This product is very well made and I absolutely recommend it with one caveats. The Aihomo Potato Masher is of good weight and the handle is very comfortable compared to other mashers I have used. I did not find any sharp edges and the seam between the handle and the base was joined perfectly. I do not see any issue with potatoes getting stuck in voids which would make it hard to clean. The mashed potatos themselves were very smooth and were similar to the results I get with a mixer if not a little bit better. This is also where I encountered the only issue with this type of masher. This masher did not perform as well and continually got clogged when skins were left on the potatos. With some extra work, it was able to mash however, you should be aware of this limitation. Overall, if you skin your potatoes, this is a wonderful addition to keep stored in your kitchen drawer.

I usually hate potato mashers because they hog up so much space in my drawer. Then I discovered this one. It works just as good as the larger ones and it fits great in my drawer.

I’ve been using a different style of masher for a while now, but found that it doesn’t mash things quite enough. Having owned an old school masher with this style of mashing plate in this past, this item was a no brainer. It came in very impressive packaging – in a box, with a reusable nylon bag. I chuckled a bit because the box said “potato mud”. An accurate descriptor indeed, but a phrase I hadn’t ever used. Anyway, the item itself has a nice weight and isn’t flimsy at all. I was impressed with the thickness of the mashing plate. It mashed the potatoes thoroughly and exactly as I’d hoped (with those oh-so-satisfying potato cylinders, as shown in the photo). My one criticism is that there isn’t a handle to push down on from the top, and that might cause problems for folks that have issues with grip due to the smooth steel handle. It’s not a dealbreaker for me (yet), but something to keep in mind. I’d love to see this same item with a handle on top that one can push down on without having to grip so firmly (or even a rubber handle sleeve would help). Overall, a solid masher and one that’ll use frequently.

    Online Consumer –

This is a great potato masher. It says “Potato Mud Device” on the packaging, but I made mashed potatoes instead, and it works for that as well. The only instructions included are on the box “Easily Press the Mud. Not lost in deliciousness.” I did not follow those instructions, but I did just use it to smash up potatoes and it worked for that.

The entire thing is made of stainless, the handle is hollow, which is good for heat. The smashing plate is very thick compared to others I have used, and this makes it very rigid. Works great for more than just potatoes (or mud), it can be used to smash squash, or mix sauces or dips. I also will probably use it to smash hamburger patties.

I never thought much about one style of potato masher vs another, so when mine went missing I got one of those that looks like a squiggly tube in a stick. No matter how much I mashed I never got all the lumps out, so I decided to try this one. Not only does it get rid of the lumps but it does it very quickly. A am impressed with the sturdiness of both the handle and the head. The mashers I’ve had before of this style had thinner heads that got bent in the utensil drawer, but this one is much thicker and seems like it will hold up to the drawer well. I definitely recommend this utensil.

I ordered this potato masher because of its smooth handle and the smooth design between the masher head and handle. It makes cleaning it a breeze. It is heavy-duty and a joy to use. My mashed potatoes come out perfect, with no lumps. A quick wash and it is ready to take on beans for refried beans. I love how easy it is to clean. The masher head is sturdy, so there are no worries about bending or breaking in the utensil drawer. It is everything I was seeking in a potato masher for my holiday cooking.
